• Weed killer: Because weeds are uncommon on artificial lawns, you should only need to spray weed killer once or twice a year to keep growths at bay. If you have pets, take care to use animal-friendly alternatives on the market.

In the unlikely event that weeds have grown through your artificial grass, you can remove them by uprooting them, pouring boiling water over them or by spraying them with weed killer. Take care with boiling water and weed killers, as they can eliminate other forms of plant life too. 

You can also pursue non-toxic weed killers that are more gentle on the environment, such as homemade vinegar sprays. Also consider pets and children when selecting your weed killer to keep everyone safe.
